The exact Nesting + Laser Cut sequence
Follow the sequence implemented in NestPro_V2.5_Design_Silhouette_Laser_Stroke_ColorPicker_v3.jsx.
01 / Prepare source geometry
Open the Illustrator file, select the intended active artboard, keep closed no-fill pattern outlines inside it, and put compatible filled design artwork outside it. Hidden or locked objects are skipped.
02 / Set parameters
Set matching tolerance (default 2 cm). Laser Cut starts OFF. When enabled, the panel defaults to Inside Stroke 1 pt, Outside Stroke 2 pt, black/white colors and the LASER CUT output layer.
03 / Scan and match
Scan pattern contours and design silhouettes, prioritizing clipping paths for clipped artwork. Filter by dimensions, aspect ratio and area, then compare sampled shape and perimeter while preventing pattern reuse during the run.
04 / Orient and place
Keep the design at 0° or rotate it exactly 180° according to the match. Translate the existing design so its chosen silhouette center aligns with the pattern center.
05 / Optional Laser Cut
If Enable Laser Cut is checked, clear the selected output layer and create separate Inside and Outside stroke copies from successfully placed closed design silhouettes. The pattern outline is not the laser source.
06 / Review and save
Inspect placed-design and failure counts, generated stroke counts, colors, widths, layer stacking and geometry. Save the Illustrator document manually; the script does not automatically export another file.
